We submitted our review paper! It aims to establish the base for future publications of the EUROPONDS project, collecting knowledge about permanent ponds and their
ecological role, especially focusing on emerging insects.

We, Biljana and Lena, will be hosting a Special Session on "The future of small water bodies in the context of global change" with PONDERFUL researchers Pieter
Lemmens and Sandra Brucet at the SIL Congress in August 2022.

That's a wrap! Sampling officially finished for all teams. Now we're off to go analyze all we collected ...that's going to keep us busy for a while.

We participated in the SEFS12: Biljana and Lena were co-chairing sessions in the SS03 on small water bodies in the landscape, presentations on the EUROPONDS project and on an individual pond of our dataset in Spain were given. Marina and Pablo even received the first prize of the postersession!
The final field sampling period started !
Here you can see what summer looks like at our pond site in Rennes, France.

One of our PIs, Biljana Rimcheska, presented the EUROPONDS project at the Balkan Bio 2021 conference. Due to Covid19, the conference was held online from April 15th - April 16th. https://balkanbio.uni-plovdiv.bg
Winter season sampling is conducted by all the EUROPONDS teams. This is a highly artifical pond in Spain - even there we found emerging insects !
We're happy to announce that we'll attend SEFS12 as part of special session SS3 "The role of small water bodies in the landscape" together with Iwan Jones, Mary Kelly-Quinn and Bill Riley. SEFS12 Webpage
Juan Rubio-Rios and Encarnacion Fenoy presented the EUROPONDS project at the Online-Symposium "IX Simposio de Investigacion en Ciencias Experimentales" of the University of Almeria, Spain. Check poster on Researchgate
Autumn has arrived and therefore the first sampling season of EUROPONDS project - this is two members of Team 1 sampling a pond near Gaming in Austria.
Lena Fehlinger presented the EUROPONDS project to the colleagues at the Balaton Limnological Institute in Tihany, Hungary. This presentation was made for Humboldt Day 2020.
